TL;DR — the short version
Be respectful. Don't cheat. Only post things you have the right to post. Follow tournament rulings. Treat the platform like a shared stage that exists because everyone behaves like adults. The full rules are below — they apply, but this paragraph captures the spirit.
GEA is operated by the Georgian Esports Association (the "Association", "we", "us"). The "platform" or "services" means the website at gea.ge, the GEA-operated league and tournaments, the team and scouting features, and any related communications, tools or branded events.
These terms work alongside our Privacy Policy and any specific rule set published per tournament or competition. Where a competition's rules conflict with these general terms, the competition's rules apply for that event only.
01
Acceptance of these terms
By creating an account, registering for a competition or otherwise using the platform you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these terms, the Privacy Policy and any rules referenced from them.
If you do not agree, do not use the platform. If you are using the services on behalf of a team, organization or sponsor, you confirm you have the authority to bind that entity.
02
Eligibility & accounts
You must be at least 13 years old to register an account. Specific competitions may set higher minimum ages — those will be stated in the competition rules and override this where stricter.
You must provide accurate, current registration information and keep it up to date. One person may hold one account. Multi-accounting, account sharing, account selling and account transfers are prohibited and grounds for permanent suspension.
03
Account security
You are responsible for any activity that occurs through your account. Use a strong, unique password, enable two-factor authentication where it is offered, and notify us immediately at the contact email below if you suspect unauthorized access.
We may temporarily suspend access to investigate suspicious activity. We will not ask for your password by email or chat — anyone who does is not us.
04
User content
You retain ownership of the content you publish on the platform — team logos, news submissions, scouting profiles, comments, applications and similar materials.
By publishing content on the platform you grant GEA a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, display, broadcast, distribute, translate and create derivative works of that content for the purpose of operating, promoting and broadcasting the platform and its competitions.
You will not publish content that is illegal, infringing, fraudulent, deceptive, harassing, hateful, obscene, threatening or that contains personal data of others without their consent. We may remove content that violates these terms or applicable law without notice and at our discretion.
05
Conduct, fair play & anti-cheat
You will not, through the platform or in connection with any GEA competition: use cheats, hacks, third-party tools, scripts or exploits that grant in-game advantages; manipulate, fix or bet on the result of matches you participate in or have inside information about; impersonate another person, team or official; harass, threaten, dox or use slurs against any user, staff member or official; circumvent bans or suspensions, including by registering a new account.
Confirmed cheating, match-fixing or harassment may result in immediate, permanent platform-wide bans and reporting to the relevant game publisher and, where applicable, law enforcement. Less severe violations are handled through warnings, temporary suspensions or competition-specific penalties.
06
Tournaments, league & competition rules
Each tournament and league season has its own rule set covering format, schedule, eligibility, roster lock, server settings, prize-pool conditions and admin authority. Registering for a competition means you accept its rules.
Tournament administrators have final authority on in-event matters, subject to the appeal process described in those rules. Decisions may include match restarts, score adjustments, forfeits, disqualifications and roster eligibility rulings.
Prize money is paid only after the result is finalized and any applicable verification (identity, eligibility, anti-cheat, tax) is complete. We may delay or withhold prizes where rules have been broken, pending investigation. Where prizes cannot be paid for legal or eligibility reasons, they may be reallocated according to the competition rules.
07
Teams, rosters & captains
A team's identity, name, tag and roster on the platform are managed by the registered captain account. The captain is responsible for accurately reflecting active members, transfers and inactivity, and for the conduct of registered team members in connection with platform activity.
Verified teams must keep contact details and roster information current. Roster locks for a given competition take effect according to that competition's rules. Disputes between team members about roster ownership are decided by the original captain account or, where ownership is contested, by GEA staff using documentary evidence.
08
Scouting & recruitment
The scouting features let teams post openings and players post profiles or applications. GEA is a publishing platform, not a recruiter, employment agency or party to any agreement reached between you and another user.
Any contract, payment, transfer, working relationship or representation that results from a scouting connection is solely between the parties involved. You will not use scouting to circumvent contracts you have signed elsewhere or to recruit minors without written guardian consent.
09
Communications & notifications
By creating an account you agree to receive operational messages relating to your account, registrations, tournament communications, anti-cheat enforcement and security. You may opt out of marketing communications at any time from your settings or via the unsubscribe link in those messages.
Required transactional messages — for example confirmations, security alerts and competition admin notices — cannot be opted out of while your account is active.
10
Intellectual property
"GEA", the GEA wordmark, the cyan brand mark, "Georgian Esports Association" and all related design, editorial and broadcast assets are the property of the Association.
You may not copy, distribute, white-label, reverse-engineer or build derivative platforms from these assets without our prior written permission. Game and publisher trademarks (CS2, Valorant, Dota 2, League of Legends, etc.) are the property of their respective owners and used in their nominative sense to refer to those games. Nothing in these terms grants you a license to those third-party marks.
11
Third-party services
The platform may link to or integrate with third-party services such as Discord, streaming platforms, payment processors and sponsor sites. GEA is not responsible for the availability, terms or content of those services. Your use of any third-party service is governed by the terms of that service.
12
Sponsorship & advertising
Sponsor placements, paid advertisements and partner promotions on the platform are clearly identified as such. Editorial content is independent from sponsor relationships, and sponsored tournament content is labeled. We may remove advertising or sponsorships that are misleading, illegal or incompatible with the values of the platform.
13
Privacy
Your use of the platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it and the rights you have over it. By using GEA you agree to that policy. Where consent is required for specific processing, we will ask for it separately.
14
Disclaimers
The services are provided "as is" and "as available". We work to keep tournaments, brackets, results and rankings accurate, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, that information is current at every moment, or that competitions will reach completion under any specific circumstance.
Causes outside our reasonable control — including game-server outages, publisher rule changes, internet outages, force majeure, government action, third-party service failures or large-scale cheating attacks — may require us to delay, modify, restart or cancel competitions. Where this happens we will communicate openly and apply the most reasonable remedy available under the competition rules.
15
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, GEA, its staff, contributors and partners are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the services — even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the services will not exceed the greater of: (a) the amount you actually paid GEA in the 12 months immediately before the claim arose; or (b) GEL 100. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under mandatory law.
16
Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify and hold GEA, its staff and contributors harmless from any claim, demand, loss or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of: (i) your content; (ii) your conduct on the platform; or (iii) your breach of these terms or any applicable law.
17
Suspension & termination
You may close your account at any time from account settings. Closing your account does not erase content you have already published — see the Privacy Policy for retention details and your data rights.
We may suspend or terminate access without prior notice for serious violations of these terms (such as cheating, match-fixing, harassment, fraud or illegal activity). For less serious violations and extended inactivity we will provide reasonable notice where possible. Suspended users may appeal in writing through the contact form within 30 days; appeals are reviewed by staff who were not involved in the original decision.
18
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when the platform, the law or competition formats evolve. Material changes will be announced on the platform and, where reasonable, by email to active accounts at least 14 days before they take effect. Non-material updates (typo fixes, clarifications, contact details) may be published without prior notice.
Continued use of the platform after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms. If you do not accept an update, you should stop using the platform and may close your account.
19
Governing law & disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Georgia (the country). Any dispute arising from or relating to these terms or the platform will be resolved by the competent courts of Tbilisi, Georgia, except where mandatory consumer-protection law of your place of residence provides otherwise.
Before going to court, both parties agree to attempt good-faith resolution through the contact form for at least 30 days. Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking urgent injunctive or interim relief in any competent court.
20
Severability & entire agreement
If any provision of these terms is held invalid or unenforceable by a competent court, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any tournament-specific rules referenced from them, constitute the entire agreement between you and GEA regarding the services and supersede any prior agreements on that subject.
